VISUAL DIARY
me and my education in/with image
Feeling the image as an integral part of her personality, Pauli never joined any academy of art, however she deepened her skills in art courses from her childhood. She practiced with students of Art Academy in Kraków, took part in photography courses and awarded in several phography and painting competitions. She studied Chinese Calligraphy under Ewa Chmielowska and in China, with old chinese master in Wudang Shan. She shown her works in plenty of exhibitions (both graphics, paintings and photography). She travelled with her art across Mediterreanian coast, selling her works as a street artist. Understanding the importance of body and movement in her life, she followed the way to focus on dance and theatre practice, letting images to become ripe through the complementary experiences.
She has several styles, each of the very characteristic. She uses ink on paper, pen on paper, pencil on paper and acrylic paints of paper, canvas, silk, wood, or walls and other extraordinary materials. Her drawings and paintings are both realistic and surrealistic. The images she draws are like an instant improvisation: letting the image to be born out of silence, out of feeling, trusting the fluid flow from the unknown.
Pauli integrates work with image and movement in her workshops: 'Through breath and motion to a painting', and 'Calligraphy in motion. Motion in calligraphy'. Guidance through imagination is a crutial way she follows in all her movement activities (especially 7 animals dance, subtle qualities in contact improv, weaving the breath and the dragins breath).
